Skladon has established cooperation with Sportisimo. It temporarily takes over part of the supply of brick-and-mortar stores.

Since September, Skladon, a company that provides complete outsourcing of logistics, has also been fulfilling part of the shipments to the popular sports equipment retailer Sportisimo. The shipment of goods officially started at the beginning of this month, but the receipt of products and the preparation of systems have been underway for several weeks. Sportisimo plans to dispatch approximately 1,000 packages per day from the Skladon distribution center to all of its brick-and-mortar stores in the Czech Republic and other countries. The conclusion of the cooperation follows on smoothly from the latest expansion of the distribution center, which Skladon finally completed this summer, as Sportisimo is using the entire capacity of the newly built area. The cooperation will help Sportisimo to bridge the period of complete relocation of the central warehouse to the new warehouse in Ostrava.

Sportisimo, originally a Czech chain of stores and an online sporting goods store, operates more than 200 brick-and-mortar stores in Europe. In addition to the Czech Republic, it also operates in Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. Since September, Skladon has also been responsible for part of the supply to all these stores. As part of the partnership, it will be responsible for the actual dispatch of orders to the brick-and-mortar stores, as well as for their picking and packing.

Quality logistics as the key to a satisfied customer

Sportisimo plans to ship around 1,000 packages a day through the Skladon distribution center, which in total represents approximately 20,000 items received and shipped. Daily shipments will be made within the Czech and Slovak Republics, while the remaining countries will be shipped on a weekly basis. Sportisimo places great emphasis on top logistics, as in 2008 it was the first major sports chain on the Czech market to enable customers to shop online from the comfort of their homes. The cooperation with Skladon will thus help it to continue to maintain a high level of supply in brick-and-mortar stores, as well as maximum comfort and customer satisfaction.

In recent years, we have noticed a change in the attitude of Czechs towards sport and their own health in general. Investments in this area are thus increasingly high on their list of priorities, which is also linked to the purchase of functional and reliable equipment. Our goal is therefore to constantly expand the range of products for our customers and to continue to grow dynamically. This is also the reason why we are building our own distribution center in Ostrava. At the same time, we have decided to establish cooperation with Skladon, which will enable us to immediately increase the necessary logistics capacity. We perceive Skladon as a quality and experienced partner, from the beginning we had identical ideas about the form of future cooperation in the negotiations and the subsequent implementation took only a few weeks,” says Aliaksei Siparau, Director of Logistics at Sportisimo, about the cooperation.

The importance of fulfilment in the Czech Republic is growing

Skladon provides its clients with the facilities of a modern distribution center, which also benefits from its strategic location near the Leos Janacek International Airport. In addition to this, it also has direct access to the motorway and railway, and the construction of a combined transport container terminal with direct connection to the port of Antwerp in Belgium has recently been completed. As a result, the company offers its clients delivery to four countries within the framework of economic land transport within the second day of ordering. Currently, Skladon handles fulfillment for more than 70 online stores to which it ships goods worldwide. However, he sees the cooperation with Sportisimo, which has been in business for more than two decades, as a significant success and proof that fulfillment is on the rise among Czech retailers.

We appreciate the cooperation with a company that has been operating on the Czech market for over 20 years and regularly wins awards in its category. It also proves to us that Czech companies are becoming increasingly aware of how important quality and reliable logistics is for their operations and how important it can be for them in servicing foreign markets. Sportisimo also turned to us at the right time and we were able to offer them a completely newly equipped space where it was possible to start loading the first goods immediately,” adds CMO and co-founder of Skladon Patrik Babinec.

Czech retailers are increasingly turning to outsourcing logistics, often not only for basic services, but also for additional ones. Therefore, Skladon takes a very individual approach to its clients, and in addition to the storage and dispatch of goods, it also provides them with kitting or special packaging. Its fulfillment services are mainly used by medium-sized and larger online stores, such as Skinners, a manufacturer of sockshoes, Kilpi, a Czech brand of outdoor equipment, or Trezor, a seller of hardware wallets, among others. In addition, due to the growing interest in handing over logistics to experts, Skladon plans to expand the area of its distribution center again in the future by thousands of square metres. The Czech headquarters will not be the only one on which the company will focus its attention, as Skladon’s management is also currently working on selecting the ideal market for its upcoming international expansion.
